The Color Sensational Vivid Matte line from Maybelline is definitely Vivid but it's not so much Matte. I personally don't mind the glossiness of it. You apply it like a gloss. If you blot it, it does seem pretty Matte. It's not drying like a matte lipstick would be though. Personally I find that Matte Lippies cake around the dry parts of my lips and make my lips stick together and this doesn't do that at all. In fact it goes over any dry spots on my lips just fine like a layer of paint. A little of this goes a long way and the color is vibrant. I tried the Rebel Red and The Nude Flesh. The nude one totally washed me out because it is the same color as my lips. I would suggest that for someone with a dark skin tone not a pale pinkish tone like me. The red one was pretty if you want to add a lot of color to spice up your life. I'd love to try some more pink tones since I actually do like the texture of these. These do smudge if you drink something and if you want them to stay the same consistency you will have to reapply often, but really that is the case will all gloss and most lip products. Some people don't care for the smell/taste of these but I don't mind them at all. All in all I'd say great color and gloss consistency.
